  • Chrome's new unsubscribe button helps block spam notifications.
  • The update is currently available on Pixel devices and will soon reach other Android phones.
  • An improved Safety Check feature revokes permissions from risky or unused websites.

Google's latest Chrome update addresses spam notifications. Annoying pop-ups and unwanted alerts are being removed.

With this new feature, users can now unsubscribe from unwanted notifications with a single tap.

The feature is currently only available on Google Pixel devices, but it will soon be available on other Android phones.

In addition, Chrome now includes a “Unsubscribe” button in notifications for PCs and other desktop operating systems, making it simple to opt out of unwanted alerts.

No more digging through settings to turn off those annoying pop-ups. With a single click, they're gone.

If you accidentally remove a notification that you want to keep, you can undo the action using the “Undo” button.

The new unsubscribe feature detects notifications that appear repeatedly. When Chrome detects a notification that appears frequently, it adds a “Unsubscribe” button directly to the notification.

This allows you to immediately remove the website's permission to send notifications without having to navigate Chrome's settings.

It is especially useful for preventing virus push notifications, which frequently exploit browser permissions to flood your screen with unwanted advertisements.

Previously, removing these notifications required going to the uncharted settings menu, but with this update, you can do so directly from the push notification.

Google's revamped Chrome browser now includes an improved Safety Check feature.

It can now automatically revoke permissions from websites that have not been visited in a long time or pose potential security risks.

These actions, such as flagging unwanted notifications or revoking permissions, will be displayed in a summary panel.

Safety Check will also notify you of any security issues, such as compromised passwords or software that requires updates.

This update also adds one-time permissions to websites. Users can now grant access to their camera, microphone, and other permissions for a single session.

When they leave the website, Chrome automatically revokes their permissions.

This prevents websites from continuing to access these features without explicit permission.

Google claims that the new unsubscribe feature has already reduced notification volume by 30% on supported Pixel devices.
