A hacker claims to have breached the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice, stealing sensitive information on 13,000 officials and making it available on the dark web.

A major data breach has been reported concerning the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice. A threat actor named “Vadimblyaa” has claimed to have obtained sensitive information from 13,000 contacts, including high-ranking authorities and officials.

The hacker shared the alleged breach details on a dark web crime forum, claiming to have acquired a significant amount of contact information from multiple government departments.

The compromised data includes the full names, email addresses, organizations, and government sectors of the officials.

Vadimblyaa, the hacker responsible for the breach, has not provided a fixed price for the stolen data, but has mentioned that it is open to offers.

The threat actor backed up their claims by providing a sample of the data, which seems to be in plain text format and aligns with the described breach.

It is still unclear how much information was leaked by Vadimblyaa, as they have not provided details on how they obtained the data or if they have any other undisclosed information.

The threat actor has stated that the data breach has affected the following departments:

  • Department of DRACS
  • Department of Justice
  • Department of the DVS
  • Ministry of Justice
  • Personal Contacts
  • Private Notary Office Contacts
  • Registration Service Contacts
  • State Executive Contacts
  • State Notary Office Contacts
  • State Registrations Service of Ukraine

This data breach is especially concerning, considering the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War. The disclosure of sensitive information about Ukrainian officials and authorities could potentially create substantial security vulnerabilities.

The data, which is now accessible to those willing to pay on the dark web, can be used for nefarious purposes such as espionage, blackmail, or targeted cyber-attacks.
